What we collect
When you request a quote or send an enquiry
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the job address and a description of the job. You can also tick a box to receive our monthly tree care tips.
With each form entry, our website records the date and time, your IP address, your browser details, the page you sent it from, and how you found our website: the page you first landed on, the website that sent you, and any ad campaign or ad click codes.
Before 14 October 2026, our forms also recorded the approximate location of visitors who allowed it. We no longer collect it.
When you sign up for our tree care tips
Our newsletter form asks for your first name and email address.
When you call, email or book a job with us
We record your name and contact details, the property address, the details of the job, and our quotes, invoices and payment records. We may take photos of the trees and work area to quote, plan and record the job.
When you visit our website
Our website collects technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you view, the phone numbers you tap and how you found us (for example, an ad or a Google search). The section on cookies below explains more.
What we don’t need
We don’t need sensitive information, such as health details, to quote or do tree work. Please leave it out of your job description.
Staying anonymous
You can browse our website without telling us who you are. To quote or book a job, we need your name, contact details and the job address.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- arrange and carry out the work
- invoice you and keep our business and tax records
- send our monthly tree care tips and updates, if you’ve signed up
- keep our website secure and stop spam
- see how people use our website, and which of our ads lead to enquiries, so we can improve both
- meet our legal obligations.
We won’t use your information for anything else unless you agree or the law allows it.
Our email updates
We only send our tree care tips and updates if you sign up through our newsletter form, or tick “Yes, please sign me up” on our enquiry form. If you sign up through the enquiry form, we add your name, email address, phone number and job address to our mailing list.
A marketing provider sends our updates for us using Mailchimp. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests within five working days. You can also ask our office to take you off the list.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Our website and the services below use cookies and similar technology.
- Google Analytics shows us how visitors use our website, such as which pages they view and how they arrived. Google collects this information, including your IP address, and handles it under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Google Ads measures which of our ads lead to enquiries and phone calls. When you send our enquiry form, your name, email address and phone number are scrambled (hashed) and sent to Google, so Google can match your enquiry to an ad you may have clicked. Google may also use visits to our website to show our ads to people who have been here before. You can control the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center.
- Visit tracking. Our website records the pages you visit, the forms you send and the phone numbers you tap, with how you arrived (for example, from an ad or a Google search). A cookie links these to your visit.
- Spam check. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA (the “I’m not a robot” box), which collects information about your device and how you use the page.
- YouTube videos. Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube, which Google owns. YouTube may set cookies when a page with a video loads, even if you don’t play it.
- Google reviews. Our Google reviews are shown with a third-party widget. It loads the reviews and reviewer photos from its own servers and Google’s.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google.
When a page loads content from these services, they receive your IP address and browser details. Google explains how it uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
